My experience of discovering letters, diaries and writings left by my mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, which became The Blue Box: Three Lives in Letters.
The workshop is limited to eight people. The group will read personal essays by noted writers. Each of the eight will also have an opportunity to share readings from her/his on-going project.
This year at the Southern Kentucky Book Fest I will be presenting a workshop on memoir writing on Friday afternoon and also be part of a nonfiction panel on Saturday morning.

I believe that the genre of memoir, somewhat overused now, can be refreshed and made more relevant by considering the fact that when we write memoir we are in fact writing history.
