On June 1, I had the pleasure of discussing the Underground Railroad with Kathy Schultz, author of The Underground Railroad in Ohio at Collected Works Bookstore in Santa Fe, NM.
Ohio was pivotal in the operation of the Underground Railroad, the most active of any state. Schulz looks at the inception and expansion of the system and explains the reasons that Ohio was “the state most heavily traveled.”
If you’re at all interested in little-known facts about the Underground Railroad, particularly in Ohio and Kentucky, I think you’ll enjoy this just as much as I did!
